INFRATRACK Solutions – a joint venture between Boom Software and PJ Messtechnik

PJ Messtechnik GmbH (PJM) and Boom Software are utilising the feeder railway of a decommissioned coal-fired power plant as a test and development site for railway innovations. The joint venture INFRATRACK Solutions was founded for this purpose.

The two railway specialists Boom Software AG and PJ Messtechnik GmbH are taking over the connecting railway of the Verbund power plant site in Mellach. This cooperation will enable more intensive use of the existing railway infrastructure of the coal-fired power plant, which was decommissioned in 2020, and serve as a basis for modern test applications.

The site is located in the immediate vicinity of Graz and the new Koralmbahn railway line, as well as the two Styrian companies, and will in future be home to innovations and further developments in the railway sector, particularly in the fields of measurement and testing technology and software.
The optimally located and equipped connecting railway line provides an ideal railway environment, where testing of rail vehicles and components will be carried out. The spectrum ranges from physical inspections of assets to sensor- and software-based testing.
